Girl's Weekend Recap

Last weekend I went to Myrtle Beach, SC to meet up with some of my college girlfriends.  It was a much needed time of relaxing and destressing!  (Although I did have to take a test at Coastal Carolina while I was there...but we'll get into that later).

We had such a wonderful time.  Here are some pictures from the weekend

Roomies!!!

One of the girls had a gift card for $100 to Fresh Market, and doesn't have a Fresh Market near her.  So we got to indulge and spent $100 on groceries for 2 days!  It was not my normal kind of shopping, but it was a treat to go in and not worry about staying in a budget :)

We cooked one dinner and we made it a good one...

Tuna Steaks with zucchini, squash, and roasted potatoes.  I was surprised that I actually liked the tuna steaks- I normally do not eat any kind of fish/seafood.

Layed out on the beach (and some got really sunburned!)

Before we left we went and ate at Red Robin.  It was my first experience at Red Robin, and it really was yummmmm!  :)

So blessed to call these girls my friends!  I miss y'all!

Absolutely A-DOT-able

I want to introduce you to one of my best friend's businesses today...Absolutely A-DOT-able.  My friend Haley at Classy Southern Sweet and her sister and mom started this great key chain business and they are just too cute not to share. They are super affordable and make wonderful gifts.

Haley made me one with my new initials and I LOVE IT! (sorry for the blurry phone picture)

Here are some examples from their facebook page:

They make large keychains...

Small Keychains:

And even sports keychains!

The small keychains are $6 and the large ones are $11.  Personalized with your initials, etc. is a few extra dollars.  They will customize your colors and ribbons for you!

Visit their facebook page for more info or email absolutelyadotable@yahoo.com to place an order

Tea Time

I have such wonderful friends!  This past weekend my matron of honor, Heather, and her mother threw me a bridal luncheon/tea.  It was picture perfect!  Down to the beautiful mixed matched china, chicken salad, and sugar cubes!

THANK YOU LADIES FOR ALL YOU DID!
Heather with her mother and grandmother.

The table settings were beautiful, and I loved all the hydrangeas!

My bridesmaids and I before the tea, aren't they all so beautiful?

We all got in on taking pictures under the pretty arbor
My mom and I are pictured below.

Our lunch included turkey salad, crescent rolls, fresh mixed fruit, fruit dip, and pasta salad.  And sweet tea!

After lunch we enjoyed some delicious desserts...

Cake and mini strawberry cheesecakes...

and lemon bars and wedding cookies.

We also enjoyed some hot tea with our desserts!

Afterwards I opened all the sweet gifts everyone gave me.  I LOVED that people got me "antique" themed gifts.  Exactly the kind of stuff I like!

Haley found these antique state plates at a local antique store.  Guess what the only two states they had in the store were?  North Carolina and Illinois!  It was meant to be. :)

My mom got me a milk glass plate and two milk glass spice jars.  I've been eyeing those spice jars for quite some time, and she didn't even know it!  She knows what I like.

Tracy and Katalyn gave me this unique little serving platter.  Don't you just love that little curve on the left side?  I just love white dishes and was very excited to be able to add a few pieces to my collection.

Heather painted this beautiful teapot for me at a pottery place!  What a great and personal gift!  And a perfect reminder of our tea party.

I loved the tray and pillow that my Maw Maw gave me.

After I opened my gifts, I gave the bridesmaids (and flower girl) a couple of gifts just to say thank you for all their help over the past year and for being my bridesmaids!

I gave them their personalized hanger that they will use at the wedding to hang up their bridesmaids dresses

As well as a tote bag that I monogrammed

I love you girls!  Thank you for making this such a special day for me!

Sweet Baby James

I am blessed to still be friends with so many people that I was friends with in my childhood.  I met Staci when I was in kindergarten.  We’ve been friends ever since.  Her birthday party when we were in kindergarten was the first sleepover I ever went to.  Here are some pictures from that sleepover :)  Can you tell which one is me? Staci is the one with the Snow White shirt. :)

PScannedImage028_028Staci is the one is the pink in the picture below.  From left to right: Brittany, me, Staci, Heather, and Haley.   PScannedImage026_026 I’m still super close with Staci, Heather, and Haley.  I love that we have been friends for so long!

Staci is married and all grown up now and lives in Illinois (really close to where Jeremy is from actually).  She and her husband Mark just had their first baby 6 weeks ago.  Me, Heather, and Haley were so excited to get to go and see sweet baby James last night for the first time!

Me holding him- he kept smiling and we were trying to get a picture of it :)

100_1189 100_1181Heather with James, she and her husband Miles are expecting a son in September!   100_1182Staci with a couple of cute things Haley brought her.

Haley is holding James in the picture below. 100_1183Here is Haley with baby J!  100_1184I’m holding him in this one, but I don’t have a good shot of the two of us.  I’ll have to add more photos when Haley sends me some of hers.   100_1187

We love you Staci and baby James- it was so sweet to finally meet you!

Surprise Bridal Shower

My wonderful friends here in Lynchburg threw me a surprise bridal shower this past Sunday.  Jeremy kept me out all day after church while they got everything together for the shower.  It was so much fun and so thoughtful of them to put it together for me!
199747_806327980658_55715852_42298197_3283255_n You can tell from my face that I was like, what is going on here?  I almost didn’t want to put this picture because of that face I’m making, but hey, its a surprise picture :)

The girls had all kinds of wonderful goodies for us to eat, and my favorite…bridal shower punch!

After we ate, I opened presents.  My friends are too good to me, thank you girls for all the wonderful gifts!
My roommate Sarah bought me these beautiful crystal candlesticks.  They can fit tea lights or pillar candle sticks.

My friend Chrissey bought me some kitchen stuff from our registry. 188685_806328804008_55715852_42298210_2279006_n 189964_806328918778_55715852_42298212_697753_n 190088_806329377858_55715852_42298216_7102673_n
Sarah made this adorable wedding cake card on her mom’s cricket.  How cute is that?

Loved my stockpot from Laura and TJ!  Laura was an old “quad”mate, and her husband TJ will be officiating the wedding.

After presents, we played some fun games.  First up with pin the flower on the wedding dress.  How creative :)

And then we played a “newlywed game”.  The girls had asked Jeremy a set of questions the day before and had his answers ready.  They then asked me the questions and if I didn’t answer the same as Jeremy, I had to fish out Hershey kisses from a pie pan filled with cool whip using only my  face!  It was hilarious!

We had such a good time!   Thank you girls for a wonderful shower and to Jeremy for keeping the secret and keeping me out of the house all day :)  Love you guys!
